Can a website make my business more successful?

Why a website can transform your business – with La Fin Head Designer, Jodey

At La Fin Design we have built many websites over the years. In that time, I’ve had a firsthand view of how a well-designed website can skyrocket a business to a professional level. A website isn’t just a nice thing to have anymore. It’s one of the most essential items of your business.

It’s an extension of your branding

Your brand is everything. From the first time you meet a client, to the first time they stumble across you on social media, every touch point you have with your customer needs to reflect your brand in the best way possible. Your website is an extension of your brand, and as an extension it needs to represent you well.

It gives you opportunity to update your business model

Let’s imagine you have a consumable product that launched two years ago. While you only offer simple products online, your customers are asking for subscriptions so that they don’t need to manually order every month.

Offering a subscription-based model online is a great way to expand and grow your business. But this requires a website that has the necessary functionality and can support your customers’ needs. Upgrading your website in this way can absolutely transform your business. It enables you to service your customers better, keeping them happy and the money coming in consistently.

It gives you the chance to grow your business

Maybe you’re just starting out and getting ready to launch your own business. A well-conceived website gives you the platform to really jump start your launch. Alternatively, you may have already built your own website to kick start your business. Now, 12 months to two years later, your business is booming and your website no longer represents the best version of your brand.

Whether you’re just starting out, you’re looking to expand your products or services or you want to revamp your website, this is an ideal time to work on a new website. But before going ahead, there are a few important things you need to consider to maximise your website’s potential, avoid loss of clients, increase bounce rates and, ultimately, create an engaging, user-friendly site that becomes the foundation for business growth.

What makes good Website Design?

Your website is your shopfront online and, in most cases, it will be one of the first times a customer or client interacts with your brand. In fact, it only takes about 50 milliseconds for users to form an opinion about whether they like your website or not. So, it’s important to make a lasting impression.

As a starting point, your site needs to be easy to use, mobile friendly, speak your brand tone and, most of all, appeal to your target demographic. It needs to be functional, offering you all the features you need to successfully run and potentially grow your business. And it needs to answer the problems that your customers face. Why have they come to you? And how can you help them?

A well-designed website will take all those things (and more) into consideration.

Here is a list of things to do to prep for a website rebuild:

  • Identify your scope. In other words, what do you need your website to do?
  • Do you need it to link with an inventory system currently in place?
  • What payment gateways do you need?
  • What POS system are you using if you have a retail store that needs to share inventory with your online store?
  • What unique functionalities do you need? This might include customer emails, subscriptions, multiple currencies or shipping capabilities?

Identifying scope

Every client has a different set of unique needs for their website. We spend a lot of time one-on-one with the client to understand the scope of the job before we offer our solutions for them. We do not work off a one-model-fits-all approach.

Wireframe design

Once we finalise the scope of your project, we work with you to outline how these functionalities will be built into the website. We convey this visually by using wireframes so you can see exactly what your new site will look like. And of course we always seek your approval prior to building the website.

Launch phase

During launch phase we hand the website over to you. We have a video meeting so that you can learn how to handle day-to-day updates to your website. We always record this meeting as well so you have it to refer back if needed.

 TAKEAWAY

94% of first impressions relate to your site’s web design. And your audience’s first impression will have a lasting impact on how they view your business. Ensuring that when someone finds your website for the first time, you leave them with a good, professional impression is the foundation for growing a strong business.

If you’re looking to build a website that can help your business thrive, we would love to work with you. Get in touch today.
